Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately follow up incidental fluctuations by detecting the fluctuation amounts with respect to the reference pass line of a strip in the position opposing to gas-spouting nozzles and performing the specified correction controlling based on the fluctuation amounts. CONSTITUTION:A pass line displacement gauge 8 is of non-contact type utilizing microwaves and is disposed in opposition to a strip 2 in the position on the side slightly upper stream than nozzles 6, 6'. It actually measures the spacing size from the strip surface and outputs the same to a pass line displacement operator 9. Upon receipt of this input, the pass line displacement operator 9 calculates the pass line fluctuation amount with respect to the reference pass line and outputs this to a correction amount operator 10. The correction amount operator 10 calculates the spacing size correction amount of the nozzles 6, 6', inputs this to a set operator 11. The set operator 11 operates this together with the information relating to plating metal coating weight, calculates the new spacing size set value and injection gas pressure set value and outputs these to respective setters 12, 12' and 13, 13'.
