Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent sticking of foreign matters to the brake wheel, by making the brake wheel with a material having a tendency to stabilize hydroperoxide produced by thermal decomposition of substances in the lining which is lower than iron.
CONSTITUTION: In case that brake wheel 1 is made of a material consisting principally of iron such as cast steel used conventionally, it is customary that lining 3 is made of a material containing cobalt, manganese, etc. having a higher tendency to stabilize hydroperoxide than copper. The lining can be obtained by filling the above- mentioned cobalt, manganess, etc., in dispersible manner, over the entire surface of the conventional lining consisting basically of asbestos or the like and various filler materials bonded together by a binder consisting of phenol resin. By use of such a lining, foreign matters are prevented from sticking to the friction surface of brake wheel 1 through reaction of hydroperoxide with metals constituting the brake wheel 1.
