Abstract

PURPOSE: Conjugate fiber that is composed of an acrylonitrile (AN) polymer as the sheath component and another AN polymer containing electrically conductive substances as the core component where the AN polymer containing electrically conductive substances is exposed to the outside by giving specific structure, thus showing high antistatic property even in low blend percentage.
CONSTITUTION: A spinning dope of AN polymer containing preferably 15W80wt% of electrically conductive substance, e.g., carbon black or metal wire, and another spinnig dope of AN polymer containing no conductive substance are passed through a static mixer in layers. Then, the mixture is stirred with blades to give tortions and the resulting mixture is led to the sheath part of a sheath-core conjugate nozZle. In the meantime, another conductive dope that does not pass the mixer is led to the core part of the nozzle. Subsequently conjugate spinning is effected to produce the objective conjugate fiber having the core component 2 of AN polymer containing conductive substance in the center of the sheath component of AN polymer wherein a part of the core component 2 is dispersed radially, laminarly and branchedly in the sheath component and exposed to the outside of the sheath component.
