Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled fiber in which a fiber-forming polymer is used as the sheath component and an electrically conductive powder-containing polymer as the core component so that the fiber has a specific conjugate weight ratio, a specific count of cores and a specific discharge current, thus being suitably used for working cloths, because of its high durability, chemical resistnce and electrical conductivity.
CONSTITUTION: As the sheath component 1, is used (A) a fiber-forming polymer such as polyester polymer and as the core component 2, (B) a polymer containing 15W60wt% of an electrically conductive powder such as a polyamide polymer and they are spun with a multilayer sheath-core conjugate fiber spinning device to produce the objective multicore sheath-core conjugate fiber in which the conjugate weight ratio of B/A is 5/95W50/50, the count of the core component is 2W20 per one filament and the discharge current is 10-8W10-3A when 10kV is applied. The electrically conductive powder is preferably an electically conductive carbon black with a resistivity of 10-3W102Ω.cm.
