Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a composite yarn of stable composite shape having improved antistatic properties with a high operating efficiency, by putting a second component wherein conductive carbon black is dispersed in a compatible thermoplastic polymer around a first component of a thermoplastic polymer symmetrically.
CONSTITUTION: The first component from the inlet 1 is extruded through the hole 2, and the second (conductive) component is extruded through a plurality of holes 5 placed around the hole 2 in the rotation symmetry via the equalizing chamber 4. The two components are fused immediately after the extrusion to give a composite yarn of stable shape with a high operating efficiency. The conductive component is well exposed to the surface of the filament yarn to occupy a large surface area compared with the component ratio. Sufficient antistatic properties can be obtained with a reduced content of expensive carbon black.
