Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the method to be applied to the production of Cu-Ti clad plates, etc. by plating Cr on the metal surface to be welded to the specific thickness then opposing this plated surface to the other metal surface to be welded and subjecting the same to diffusion welding under the limited conditions in a non-oxidative atmosphere at the time of diffusion-welding Cu and Ti. CONSTITUTION:At the time of diffusion-welding Cu and Ti, Cr is plated to 10- 100mu thicknesses on the metal surface to be welded, after which the Cr plated surface is opposed to the other metal surface to be welded. Thence, the metal surfaces are diffusion-welding under the conditions of 750-950 deg.C, pressure 0.1- 5kg/mm<2>, pressure contact time 1-120 minutes in a non-oxidative atmosphere. According to this method, Cr does not form brittle intermetallic compounds with Cu.Ti.
