Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A brass alloy comprising, by weight, 58.0W60.0% Cu, 0.2W0.4% Sn, 1.00W1.50% Pb, 0.80W1.00% Fe, the balance being Zn and ≤1.00% accompanying impurities is treated as lollows: The brass alloy is first cold rolled at a reduction ratio of about 30W50%, then heat-treated at a temp. 400W650°C, especially at a temp. 500W550°C for 4W10 hrs. In the internal structure of brass alloy material manufactured by the heat treatment is shown fine work structure, each α+β phase being distributed uniformly, hence dezincing corrosion can be remarkably decreased.
