Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a nonrefined high tensile steel with superior sulfide corrosion cracking resistance by subjecting a slab having a composition contg. a specified amount of C, Si, Mn, P, S and Al and satisfying a specified equation to a series of treatments, that is, hot rolling accelerated cooling and slow cooling under specified under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A slab having a composition consisting of, by wt., 0.03W0.2% C, 0.05W0.5% Si, 0.6W1.4% Mn, <0.025% P, <0.002% S, 0.01W0.1% Al and the balance Fe with impurities and satisfying the equation is manufactured. In the equation, SC and SMn are the degrees of segregation of the elements, SC= 1.5, and SMn=2.5. The slab is heated and hot rolled so that the reducton ratio at ≤900°C is adjusted to ≥30%. It is acceleratedly cooled from 850W700°C to 650W550°C at 3W20°C/sec cooling rate and slowly cooled to 200°C at 1W10°C/sec cooling rate after stopping the accelerated cooling.
