Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide title material excellent in electric conductivity and strength without using dissolving process and aging process by restricting rolling temperature and surface reduction ratio in casting and rolling process of alloy consisting of each specific amount of Mg, Si, Fe, Cu and remaining Al, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Alloy consisting of Mg: 0.3W1%, Si: 0.3W0.8%, Fe: 0.15W0.5%, Cu: 0.005W0.1% and remaining Al and impurities is continuously cast and rolled under the following conditions: Hot roll at 400W500°C to give surface reduction of 40% or more, rapid cooling, warm rolling at 370W200°C to give surface reduction of 20W95% with rolling finish temperature of 300W150°C. Alternatively, after rapid cooling, cold roll at 200°C or below to give surface reduction of 20% or more with rolling finish temperature of 200W80°C. The process provides the title material based on Al-Mg-Si in cheap cost by use of continuous casting and rolling.
