Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a device which can reduce an eddy current loss, by providing a plane part, perpendicular to magnetic field, to the external surface of a non-magnetic pipe interlinked with the magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: Non-magnetic pipe 1 has lining 2 provided on its internal surface and a fluid flowing inside of lining 2 is provided with a magnetic field by exciting coil 5 and core 6 to detect by electrode 3 and signal lead-out wire 4 electromotive force generated in the fluid. In addition to electrode 3, plane part 7 is formed by polishing the external surface of non-magnetic pipe 1 with size (d) less than (e) perpendicular to the direction of megnetic flux B, thereby reducing size (t) of non-magnetic pipe 1. Consequently, an eddy current loss generated in non-magnetic pipe 1 can be reduced to increase density B of the magnetic flux interlinked with the fluid flowing through lining 2.
