Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a magnetizer itself thereby to make it possible to improve the operability by winding a plurality of coils on the core formed into an endless shape and by providing a magnetizing portion between the coils such that the coils are energized by a coil current direction interchanging device.
CONSTITUTION: A core body 11 made of a ferromagnetic material and formed into an endless shape is equipped with a magnetizing portion 12, which is provided in plurality below the endless core body 11. Windings 13 are also provided in plurality and connected with a coil current direction interchanging device 14, in which there are provided a circuit 14-1 for generating magnetizing direction interchanging signals and a current direction interchanging circuit 14-2. By supplying the opposite coils 12-1, 12-3 and 12-2, 12-4 with currents having different phases, the direction of the magnetic flux generated is interchanged so that the desired flaw detection is accomplished. With this construction, the magnetizing unit and the coils are not spared, and the weight is reduced while improving the operability so that the visual inspection can be facilitated.
