Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a fluidized bed in a good fluidized condition constantly and raise the efficiency of removal of a chloride from the EP ash by holding the temperature of fludized bed near a heat-flow plate below the low-melting point of the EP ash so that melted material does not stick to the heat-flow plate.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel introduced from a fuel pipe 7 is burnt in a burner 8 by the help of air supplied through an air pipe 6 and the combustion gas G of high- temperature flows through a gas passage 9 into a fluidized bed 2 from a small orifice provided in a flow-regulating plate 3, giving a fluidizing force to the bed 2. To the gas passage 9 near the place where the combustion gas G reaches the flow- regulating plate 3 is connected an air pipe 6' for cooling branched from the air pipe 6 so as to mix the combustion gas G with the air for cooling. By this, the temperature of the combustion gas G at the inlet of the flow-regulating plate is regulated to be below the low-melting point of the EP ash, i.e. the temperature between 500°C and 550°C approximately, thereby the temperature in the lower part of the fluidized bed, especially at the place near the flow-regulating plate 3, being held below the low-melting point. In this way, the sticking of the melted EP ash to the flow-regulating plate 3 is prevented.
