Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage to the furnace body of a shaff burning device by using a system in which the supply of air to a chaff burning chamber is and then after the lapse of a given period of time, the feeding of chaff is interrupted so as to avoid the abnormal rise of temperature in the burning chamber when stopping the combustion operation.
CONSTITUTION: Chaff fed from the down stream part 18 of supply path is pushed up into a burning chamber 4 by a vertical spiral 20, passed concurrently through air paths 9A and 9B in opened state, and then burned at low temperatures (about 200W300°C) while being flowed by air flowing in the direction of arrow. When stopping the operation of said burning device, the timer 32 of a controller 31 is set at a given time (or a time taken till fire is naturally extinguished in case where air supply is stopped and the feeding of chaff is continued), and also an air path 9B on the ventilating chamber 7 side is closed by a valve 11 by the operation of a regulator 33 and the operation is continued, whereupon the temperature of the char layer is naturally lowered by the interruption of air supply and the feeding of fresh chaff. At this time, the operation of a rotator 21 is stopped by a signal from the timer 32 and the feeding of the chaff is stopped.
