Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a method of burning refuse capable of obtaining high recovery rate of oil by a method wherein combustion heat of char is accumulated in fluidized sand and materials of a furnace and thermal cracking of the refuse is effected by utilizing the heat accumulated therein.
CONSTITUTION: Char begins to be burnt preferentially in a thermal cracking furnace 2 and a temperature T of the furnace is increased gradually, then, increase of the temperature T of the furnace is continued until the char in the furnace 2 is burnt out. A part of heat produced in accompanied with the combustion of the char is accumulated in fluid sand and materials of the furnace. The thermal cracking of remained refuse is effected by the heat being accumulated in the fluid sand and the materials of the furnace upon combustion of the char and the same produced upon a part of the supplied refuse is burnt. Dust in gas produced in accompanied with the thermal cracking is removed by a cyclone 13, thereafter, oil in the gas is recovered in a scrubber 15.
