Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance abrasion and corrosion resistance of an obtained title alloy by a method wherein a specific composition is prepared from W boride of which a part is replaced by one or more of boride of IVa, Va, VIa metal and Ni of which a part is replaced by a predetermined metal or boride.
CONSTITUTION: This alloy comprises 30W70vol% of W boride of which 10W 40vol% is replaced by one or more of boride of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and a balance of Ni of which 10W40vol% is replaced by one or more of Cr, Mo, Fe, Co, Fe boride, Co boride or Ni boride. Because this alloy has a relatively low sintering temperature compared to a hard metal, it is easily sintered and has hardness and deflective strength almost equal to a hard metal. Moreover, because this alloy has paramagnetism at a room temperature and high hardness, it is excellent in abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, especially, corrosion resistance to human sweat.
