Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the heat loss caused by the heat radiation of the heater and thus to reduce the power consumption by providing the heat-reflecting component around and close to the heater.
CONSTITUTION: Reflective film 32 (heat reflecting component) is formed by applying the vacuum evaporation of the nickel metal on the surface opposing to the heater of ceramics 31 (insulating supporter) and at the position where no leak is caused between electrodes. Then electrode 33 with spring 36 is sealed to ceramics 31, and ribbon-shaped heater 35 containing heat electron discharge part 34 is welded to electrode 33. The radiation heat given from heater 35 is reflected by reflective film 32 and returns to the heater, thus reducing the power down about 20W25% to secure the same cathode temperature in comparison with the case with no reflective film provided.
