Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover hydrocarbons efficiently from a mixed solution of water and hydrocarbons which is obtained by removing esters from a stock solution containing ≤3C alcohols (and esters) and 10W20C hydrocarbons by distillation and blowing steam into the residue.
CONSTITUTION: A stock solution containing 10W20C hydrocarbons in ≤3C alcohols or a mixed solution of said alcohols and esters is fed to the middle stage of the first tower 1; and the alcohols, or the alcohols and the esters are distilled out from the top of the tower and the residual alcohols and the hydrocarbons are taken out from the bottom of the tower. The solution taken out from the bottom of the tower is fed to the relatively upper part of the second tower 2 and the distillation is carried out by blowing steam simultaneously to obtain a mixture of the hydrocarbons and water in the state of vapor by side cut, whereby the hydrocarbons are recovered in extremely high purity.
