PURPOSE: To recover methanol by supplying an aqueous solution of inorganic salt containing methanol, which is taken out of the bottom of the alcohol extraction tower, into the top of the alcohol distillation tower, without discharging the inorganic salt and dissolved acrylic acid.

The unreacted acrylic acid and the organic solvent are recovered from the organic layer 11 of the extraction residue.
