Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove cyclopentadiene, in high efficiency, from a mixture of unreacted isoprene and a solvent recovered from isoprene polymerization process, by extracting a part of recovered cyclopentadiene fraction obtained by the distillation and recovery of said mixture, from the bottom of the distillation column.
CONSTITUTION: Recovered fraction obtained from the isoprene polymerization process and containing unreacted isoprene and a solvent (e.g. ≤5C aliphatic hydrocarbon), is supplied to the distillation column 2 through the pipe 1 to perform distillation, and isoprene and the solvent are obtained through the pipe 3. The side stream is extracted through the pipe 5 as gaseous state, and distilled in a distillation column 6. Purified recovery fraction is obtained through the pipe 7. The bottom fraction is recycled through the pipe 8 after the heat recovery and cooling. The concentrated cyclopentadiene fraction obtained through the pipe 9 is introduced into the solvent recovery column 10 as side stream, and cyclopentadiene is extracted through the pipe 11. The recovered solvent is taken out from the bottom and recycled through the pipe 12 to the column 6.
EFFECT: The required amount of cyclopentadiene can be removed by treating a small amount of the fraction.
