Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly reliable corona-shield layer, by winding a prepreg- mica-tape about a coil and further winding a thermally-contracting cloth-tape about it, then after heat-pressing the same, finally applying semiconductive coating material on its surface.
CONSTITUTION: Provided on a coil-conductor 1 is a prepreg-mica-tape layer 2, and a thermally-contracting cloth-tape 3 is wound thereon, then after it is heat- pressed to harden the resin in the prepreg layer, a semiconductive coating material is applied on the surface of the cloth-tape 3 to form a corona-shield layer 4. Thus, the thermally-contracting cloth-tape 3 is strongly unified by the excess resin from the prepreg-mica layer and the surface of the cloth-tape 3 can easily be applied with the semiconductive coating material and has a strong adhesion so that a highly reliable corona-shield layer 4 can be obtained.
