Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish a rapid, uniform surface treatment of a rotary body through the formation of a film of a processing liquid thereover by injecting the liquid into a section thereof with which a working electrode is brougth into contact in electric treatment of the surface thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A working electrode 8 such as metal foil is slightly slackened and brought into contact with the surface of a metal rotary body 7. A processing liquid 10 is injected into the gap between the body 7 and the electrode 8 from a pipe 9 in the direction of rotation of the body 7 and then the body 7 is rotated to form a film 12 thereover, whereby the electrode 8 is lifted up above the film. Thus a gap is yielded therebetween. When a voltage is applied between the electrode 8 and the body 7 under such a condition, a current flows through the film 12 to perform a surface treatment of the body 7. In this manner, treatments such as grinding or abrasion of metal rotary bodies of any form and dressing of a metal bond grind stone are uniformly performed.
