Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the abrasion of the grindstone by employing a conductive grindstone to produce the spark discharge on the surface of the grindstone, thereby performing the dressing of the grindstone to improve the particle rate, accuracy and the finish. CONSTITUTION:The work member 11 is supported by a work member supporter 4 while the conductive grindstone 1 is supported by a rotary shaft 2 to be supported by a bearing 3 and coupled with the rotary drive mechanism. A conductive sliding member 10 is sliding with the grindstone. The power sources 8, 9 have two electrodes respectively, where one electrodes 6, 7 are connected through the rotary drive mechanism to the grindstone, while the other electrodes 10, 12 are connected to the work member of the sliding member 2. When the work member is non-conductive and performed the dry grinding, the spark discharge is produced between the work member and the grindstone to perform the dressing if the work member is conductive or when performed the wet grinding.
