Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a combustor for thermal gas engine which provides compactness, low cost, and high heat efficiency by utilizing draft action of exhaust as well as incorporating an air preheating system in an exhaust passage above a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:At the same time as an air manifold 5 is formed keeping intervals between it and an air feeding pipe 10 surrounding a fuel feeding pipe 8 in the central part such as to form an exhaust passage 7 following after an exhuast outlet port 4 above a combustion chamber 2 installed heat pipes 3 inside, is provided a heat exchanger 12 in the exhaust passage 7. In the operating time, a burner 9 catches fire with use of fuel fed through the feeding pipe 8, the combustible gas rises along with heating the heat pipes 3 through the inside of the combustion chamber 2, which is arrived through the exhaust outlet port 4 to the exhaust passage 7. In this case, air for combustion is sent through a fan 6 into the air manifold 5, which is preheated by the heat exchanger 12 passing through the air feeding pipe 10 until it is arrived to a fuel air maixing plate.
