Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent excessive rise in temp. of NH3-contg. gas mixt, and nozzle for the gas mixt., which is injected into a high-temp. exhaust gas from a coal burning boiler etc. in order to denitrate the exhaust gas, by cooling and circulating a portion of NH3-contg. gas mixt. fed to the injection nozzle through a closed cycle system.
CONSTITUTION: Sterm (air) and NH3 gas, whose flow quantities are controlled respectively by control valves 1, 2, are mixed in a pipe line 7 and fed to injection nozzles 3, and is aprayed into high-temp. gas. The temp of the mixed gas is maintained at a temp. not higher than about 600°C for steam-NH3, and 400° for air-NH3 (to prevent decomposition of NH3). Excessive gas mixt. is delivered through a return pipe 4 to a cooler 5, where it is cooled, then it is pressureized by a blower 6 and is circulated to the nozzle 3. This process makes it unnecessary to use double tube and insulating material as well for nozzles.
