Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a swirling jet flow bed furnace for combusting EP-ash, in which height of the hollow sleeve portion of the furnace is made sufficiently high for completely carrying out combustion of ammonia and for proceeding reaction of non-reacted substances, whereby sticking of sticky substances to the wall of the furnace and inner surface of the ducts can be prevented and it is enabled to operate the furnace continuously.
CONSTITUTION: In combusting EP-ash in a swirling jet flow furnace, combustion gas is made to stay long the the furnace so as to completely combust ammonia produced by decomposition of ammonium sulfate. Ammonium sulfate is decomposed into NH3 and SO3 in swirling jet flow bed 1, and NH3 is in turn decomposed into nitrogen gas and water, whereas SO3 is decomposed into SO2. Here, in order that these decomposed substances may not be re-united in the combustion gas after cooling, height of hollow sleeve portion 13 is made sufficiently high, preferably more than 5 meters, to lower the content of ammonia at the outlet of the sleeve portion 13. Further, the gas speed is designed at 0.5W1.0 m/s, preferably at 0.7 m/s, so that reaction of non-reacted substances be promoted in the sleeve portion 13
