Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the thermal efficiency of a nuclear reactor by taking the water supplied to a nuclear reactor out of the downstream side of a condensing cleaner and using it as a barrel side cooling water of a non-regenerative heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling material of a nuclear reactor is cooled through a circulating pump 1 by regenerative and non-regenerative heat exchanger 2 and 3 and then is cleaned by a cleaner 4. The heat is then recovered from that cooling material by the exchanger 2, and the material thus treated is then returned to a nuclear reactor 7. On the other hand, the vapors generated in the reactor 7 are fed through a main vapor tube to a turbine 8 to drive the same so that they are then condensed by a main condenser 9. The cooling material thus condensed is cleaned by a supply water cleaner 10 and then is partially fed to the barrel side of the heat exchanger 3 so tht heat is recovered therefrom. The condensed water flows prepared in two ways are managed into a single flow, which is heated by a heater 11 unit it is returned to the reactor 7. While the reactor stands by at a high temperatue and stops, the cooling water for the accessories of the reactor may also be used to improve the thermal efficiency of the reactor.
