Abstract

PURPOSE:The sheet cooler possible to exactly control the cooling, by installing the cooling tank in lower part of a chamber through which the rolled sheet is transported, the deflector roller in this transportation chamber, and the push roller as the transportation path for the sheet which is being bent within the cooling tank. CONSTITUTION:The sheet 23 outgoing from the final rolling stand 21 is led into the transportation chamber 24 in whose lower part the cooling tank 28 is installed; the sheet is supported by the deflector roller 27 fixed to the partition 29 of this cooling tank 28. The push roller 30 is arranged in the upper part of each section of the cooling tank 28; this push roller 30 is brought down into the cooling tank 28 so as to push down the sheet being supported by the deflector roller 27 until the sheet submerges in the cooling tank 28; hereby, a zigzag transportation path is formed. According to this method, the total length of the cooling zone can be shortened, and the generation of oxide film on the surface of the sheet can be restrained avoiding the oxidation due to contact with the air.
