Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain color beads suitable for color copy printing, having a clear red color, by diffusing and penetrating zinc oxide, chromium oxide, and manganese oxide into the surfaces of spherical finely divided alumina particles.
CONSTITUTION: 20W30 wt.% of zinc oxide, 10W20 wt.% of chromium oxide, and 2W10 wt.% of manganese oxide are diffused and penetrated into the surfaces of spherical alumina particles having a particle size of 5W50μ. These metal oxides may be compounds to form oxides by heating. After addition of the compounds, the mixture is heat-treated at 1,200W1,500°C
