Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a diaphragm of high rigidity and lightweightness by impregnating the high polymer resin composed of copolymer of vinylidene chloride and acrylonitrile on a non-woven fabric then hot-pressing the same. CONSTITUTION:The foaming agent which comprises copolymerization of vinylidene chloride and acrylonitrile at a ratio of, e.g. 7:3, is impregnated in a non-woven fabric composed of synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon and polyvinyl chloride, etc., or a non-woven fabric composed of a blend of these synthetic fibers and natural fibers such as cotton, wool, etc., after which said non-woven fabric is expanded and molded to the diaphragm for cone type speakers with a hot press or the like. Thereby, the speaker of lightweightness, high rigidity, less distortions and flat output sound pressure frequency characteristics may be obtained.
