The second layer has an elastic characteristic so as to be capable of adaptation to the shape given to the first layer at the time of moulding of the foam shape and to be held in this position by the first layer which is then integral with the foam. The components are knitted, that of the thermostable layer having a high stitch density. The thermoplastic yarn may be a vinyl copolymer or a modacrylic resin and the thermostable yarn may be a polyamide.
