Abstract

PURPOSE: The rotation speed of tow coiler is gradually lowered as the top surface of the tow that is piled in a can rises thereby keeping the coil diameter of the tow piled in can almost constant from the bottom to the upper part of the can to prevent the worsening in creel operation.
CONSTITUTION: Melt spun tow Y is sucked into ejector 3 and sent to coiler 4 that has bended path 5 inside and outlet opening 6 on the surface. The tow running out of outlet opening 6 together with a high-speed fluid is made to rotate by coiler 4 whose rotating speed is lowered stepwise or continuously from the start of tow collecting into can to the end.
EFFECT: Resulting tow has substantially no gap between the inside wall of can and piled tow or between piled tows and parts of tow is prevented from falling into gaps thereby the worsening in creel operation can be avoided.
