Abstract

PURPOSE: A double twisting apparatus designed to reduce the diameter of the ballooning part of a yarn automatically with the decrease in the diameter of a cheese according to the advance of the yarn unwinding from the cheese, and achieve the energy saving.
CONSTITUTION: A yarn is drawn from a snail wire 4 via a ballooning part (a2) while unwinding the yarn from a cheese (A) to carry out the twisting operation. In the process, the snail wire 4 is lowered gradually with the decrease in the diameter of the cheese (A) due to the yarn unwinding therefrom. The diameter of the ballooning part (a2) is automatically reduced by the lowering of the snail wire 4, and the air resistance in the ballooning part (a2) at a high rotational speed can be reduced so much. Thus, the energy can be saved.
