Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce abrasion cracking of coal and troubles during operation, by changing a coke oven with coal free of chute rotation via the swing scrapers provided under the plural fixed chutes equally spaced around the circumference of the oven.
CONSTITUTION: Coal which is carried by a conveyor is stored in the main hopper 5. A given amount of coal is metered by the metering devices 6, fed to the upper hoppers 3. The upper seal valves 8 are opened to change the coal into the lower hoppers 4, and the upper seal values 8 are closed. The lower seal valves 9 are opened to charge the coal into the carbonization oven via the plural swing scrapers 10, which are equally spaced under the fixed chutes and rotated clockwise and counterclockwise, thus distributing the coal uniformly around the circumference of the oven.
