Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the satd. magnetic flux density of an amorphous alloy and stabilize the magnetic characteristics by heat treating the alloy in a state applied with more than 100 Oe of an external magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a (Fe0.06Co0.94)0.08B0.2 alloy shows superior soft magnetic characteristics such as less than about several tens mOe coercive force as its initial characteristics. However, when the alloy is allowed to stand, about 2 months later the characteristics are deteriorated or heat treatment at such a low temp. as 150°C for such a short time as 0.5hr readily deteriorates the characteristics. So, the alloy is heat treated in a state applied with more than 100 Oe, pref. more than about 500 Oe of an external magnetic field. Thus, the alloy can be satd. magnetically well and a deterioration in characteristics is reduced, resulting in stable life of about several years or longer at ordinary temp. or 100hr longer at 150°C.
