Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain improved soft magnetic characteristics, increased saturation magnetic flux density, reduced coercive force and enhanced actual permeability by heat-treating a ferromagnetic amorphous alloy which is preferentially amorphous in a rotating external magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: A ferromagnetic amorphous alloy obtd. by very rapidly cooling a certain molten alloy has superior soft magnetic characteristics. In order to further improve the characteristics, said amorphous alloy is kept at 150°CW the crystallization temp. in an external magnetic field rotating at ≥10rps. By this method, even if the amorphous alloy has higher Curie point than the crystallization temp., the initial permeability is increased remarkably, and an amorphous alloy with high heat stability and high saturation magnetic flux density can be obtd.
