Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electric type floor heater wherein the temperature of a planar heater can be varied in a stepless manner without being affected by the ambient temperature, and further it is possible to prevent the excessive rise in the temperature with respect to the local temperature rise.
CONSTITUTION: Now, when, an AC power source 1 is turned on, a planar heater 3 is of a low temperature, and heat sensitive thyristers 12 and 15a through 15n are off. Therefore, a gate current having a phase more advanced than the power source voltage flows in the gate of a thyristor 10 through a condenser 9, and resistors 8a and 8b, and the thyristor 10 is turned on at about zero phase. A power is supplied to the planar heater 3 at half-wave, and the temperature rises gradually. When the temperature reaches the switching temperature of the thyristor 12, it turns on the thyristor 12, and the gate current of the thyristor 10 flows into the thyristor 12, thus thyristor being turned on. Consequently, the current flowing to the heater 3 is interrupted. Thereafter, when the thyristor 12 is turned off, a current is caused to flow again to the heater 3.
