Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible measurement of high S/N by using a heat-sensitive resistance element as a detecting means of ink particles. CONSTITUTION:When a generator 7 generates an excitation signal, ink is injected from a nozzle 2. After the injection column is cut, ink drops are formed. A phase setting circuit 10 supplies one set out of m sets of pulses having the specified shape to the generator 8, then the retrieval pulse signal of the specified width is outputted from the generator 8, the a generator 9 forms the printing charge signal. When the retrieval command signal z is applied, the retrieval pulse signal from the generator 8 is applied to a charging electrode 3 in the specified phase relation with the exciting signal, then the ink drops emitting through the electrode 3 are deflected 4 in the direction separate from that at the printing and recording and collide against a thermistor 11, causing its resistance to increase. When its output resistance exceeds a reference value, the phase of the output pulses of the circuit 10 is fixed and recording is accomplished by the picture signals.
