Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately measure the position of center of gravity the measuring object from the difference in the oscillation periods by mounting the measuring object and a standard member to a suspension frame which is suspended oscillatably in a fixed direction and oscillating the suspension frame under varying measuring conditions.
CONSTITUTION: The object 4 of a known weight to be measured of its position of center of gravity and a standard member of a known weight, moment of inertia and position of center of gravity are mounted to a suspension frame 1 which is suspended oscillatably in a fixed direction, thence the suspension frame 1 is oscillated by at least one of changing the distance between the center of grarity of the standard member 5 and the fulcrum of the suspension frame 1 or changing the moment of inertia of the standard member 5 or changing the weight of the standard member 5, and the centroid height of the object 4 may be readily obtained from the differences in its oscillation periods.
