Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the seams of bottles accurately without making wrong recongnition of the same as flaws by letting the rays diffracting at the seams at the radiation of oblate rays be received in another photo detector. CONSTITUTION:Radiation of the oblate laser by a light source 2 combined with a slit or scanning mechanism transmits through a bottles 1 through the reflection and refraction intrinsic to the seam of the bottle 1 then passes through the optical path in the specific direction and is received in the photo detector 3B provided on this optical path. On the other hand, the diffused light owing to the flaw part or other of the bottle is received in the phtoto detector 3A provided on the oblate optical path. This constitution lets the seam of the bottle be accurately detected by the detection signals of the photo detectors installed in the required positions without making wrong recognition of the same as a flaw.
