Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable measurement under the same conditions in a wide range of measurements, by forming the discharge current in pulses by means of discharge detection circuit, when measuring the degree of vacuum from the peak value of the discharge current flowing between electrodes by applying high voltage between discharge electrodes provided between vacuum switches.
CONSTITUTION: In a vacuum switch tube 3 to be measured are an oppositely disposed pair of positive and negative discharge electrodes 4a, 4b, and an air core coil 6 is fitted on the outside to apply a magnetic field in the axial direction. The positive side of DC high voltage power source 1 is connected to the positive discharge electrode 4a through a resistor 2, and the negative discharge electrode 4b is grounded through a current measuring circuit 5. When a discharge time detection circuit 9 detects passing of current in a current measuring circuit 5 for a specified period, a reset signal is supplied into an excitation power source 7 to excite said DC power source 1 or air core coil 6, thereby stopping the outputs thereof. On the other hand, a starting switch 8, receiving the output signal, starts the excitation power source 7 and DC high voltage power source 1.
