Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the direct measurement of the flow speed of a gas of relatively low pressure possible by converting an object to be measured to plasma and measuring the voltage by the charged particles when a magnetic field is applied. CONSTITUTION:When a gas is converted to plasma by a plasma generator 2 and a DC magnetic field in the direction orthogonal to the flow direction is applied in a region 3 in the case of measuring the flow speed of the low pressure gas flowig in a pipe 1, the charged particles moving in a magnetic field are deflected by Lorent'z force and positive electromotive force is generated in an electrode 4 and negative electromotive force in an electrode 5. Hence, it is possible to know the flow speed directly by measuring the voltage generated between the electrodes 4 and 5.
