Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the volume of electric charge accurately irrespective of conditions of blowing-off by retaining a developer magnetically and removing the toner by a high-pressure gas stream.
CONSTITUTION: When the high-pressure gas stream is blown from a nozzle 4 against the developer 6 attracted and attached to a magnet 7, the toner 3 whose adhesive force by the electrostatic power is weal is removed irrespective of the conditions of blowing-off and only a carrier remains. By this, the volume of the electric charge generated in the carrier is measured through the intermediary of a capacitor C or the like and thus the accurate measurement of the volume of the electric charge of the toner irrespective of the blowing-off conditions can be performed.
