Abstract

724,769. Electric tests. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 2, 1953 [Jan. 7, 1952], No. 155/53. Class 37. [Also in Group XL (b)] The weak current from, e.g., an ionization chamber 1 (Fig. 2) is measured by means of a capacitor 5 which is intermittently charged by the ionization current by the movement of a contact 3 driven by known vibration apparatus, and then discharged. The A.C. component of the voltage across capacitor 5 may be amplified and measured on a rectifier meter, or the D.C. component of the voltage across a capacitor 12 in series with the ionization chamber 1 and in parallel with the capacitor 5 and vibrating contact 3 may be modulated by a capacitor 13 having one vibrating electrode, and amplified at 8 for indication on a meter 10 after rectification at 9. The amplifier 8 is connected to the vibrator 3 in negative feedback relationship.
