Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove an undesirable elastic volume wave by stacking two kinds of adhesives, different in ultrasonic physical properties, into a single layer for the support of a piezoelectric body on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Onto piezoelectric body 1 which receives and sends a Brewstein- Griaeff wave through piezoelectric effect, cross-finger-shaped electrodes IDT2 are provided and piezolelectirc body 1 has polarization axes in palallel to the length direction of fingers of IDTs 2 and 3. Then, piezoelectric body 1 is bonded to support board 5 by adhesives 4 and 6 of high-molecule synthetic resin. Layers 4 and 6 are different in either or both acoustic impedance or/and elastic modulus. The ultrasonic physical properties of a high-molucule material as a base material are extremely complex and unknown. A Brewster-Epstein wave is different with a Rayleigh wave and similar to a vlume wave; although an undesirable elastic volume wave is easy to generate, undesired signals can be removed because of composite layers 4 and 6 and the need for groove work for the reverse surface of the elastic body is eliminated.
