Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic transducer which is excellent in a frequency characteristic, by backing a high polymer piezoelectric element with a packing material consisting of butyl rubber. CONSTITUTION:A high polymer piezoelectric element 1 has electrodes 2, 2' on both its surfaces respectively. This high polymer piezoelectric element 1 is joined with a packing paterial 4 of butyl rubber through an adhesive agent layer 3. Also, metallic particles 5 are mixed in a bottom part 4' of the packing material 4. In this way, since the high polymer piezoelectric element is backed with the packing material consisting of butyl rubber, acoustic matching of the piezoelectric element and the packing material is good, and also acoustic absorptivity of the packing material is also good. Accordingly, an ultrasonic transducer which is excellent in a frequency characteristic is obtained.
