Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve wide-angle radiation characteristics by providing a radio- wave shielding board, composed of several triangle pieces, to the circumference of the primary radiator or reflector of an antenna. CONSTITUTION:At the circumference of reflector 1 of the rotation-symmetric parabolic antenna, radio-wave shielding board 3 is arranged which is made of a metal boad, a net of metal meshes, or a radio-wave absorber. This radio-wave shielding board 3 is composed of several triangle pieces and one side is connected to the circumference of reflector 1. Incident wave 6 to one diffraction point 7 at the edge of radio-wave shielding board 3 from primary radiator 2 is diffracted in a conic shape with an angle twice as wide as that formed of the tangent of the edge at diffraction point 7 and the progressive direction of incident wave 6. The angle extent diffracted wave 8 propagates can therefore be set less than 180 degrees by fixing the angle, formed on the side of the triangle piece, the edge of radio-wave shielding board 3, and the progressive direction of incident wave 8, less than 45 degrees.
