Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower the level of the diffracted wave which affects the wide-angle radiation pattern and thus to ensure the radiation for the excellent wide-angle radiation pattern by providing the magnifying glass surface doubling the line identifying surface at the periphery of the secondary reflector. CONSTITUTION:The offset-type antenna device is constituted with primary radiator 1, secondary reflector 2 formed by part of the rotary hyperboloid and main reflector 3 formed by part of the reverse paraboloid. Then magnifying glass surface part 4 is formed at the periphery of reflector 2. Owing to part 4, the waves radiated form the lower part of the phase center of radiator 1 are hit points P2 and P3 or P1 and P4 on part 4 to be reflected to points Q2 and Q3 or Q1 and Q4 each on reflector 3. Then extension l is decided for the straight line going to point P on the ambient curve from fixed point Q1 of secondary reflector 2, along with setting of the fixed angle alpha, and the field levels of points P3 and P4 are set lower than those of points P2 and P1. As a result, the level of the diffracted wave affecting the wide- angle radiation pattern is lowered down, thus ensuring the radiation of the excellent wide-angle radiation pattern from reflector 3.
