Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the electromagnetic wave which is propagated to the side direction and the back direction of an antenna, by providing two or more electromagnetic wave shielding materials along the circumference of the aperture of the reflection mirror of the effective area antenna and opening a proper hole in the shielding material nearest to the reflection mirror. CONSTITUTION:In the effective area antenna which is constituted by primary radiator 5 and reflection mirror 1, diffracted wave shielding plate 6 using hole- opened metallic plate 7 is provided along the circumference of the aperture of reflection mirror 1. Further, one or more diffracted wave shielding plates 6 are provided in the position which does not protrude from edge 4b of metallic plate 7 at the view from primary radiator 5. These shielding plates 6 are so constituted that the line connecting edge 4b of shielding plates 6, edge 4a of metallic plate 7, and the phase center of primary radiator 5 may be convex to the advancing direction of the electromagnetic wave reflected from reflection mirror 1. A metallic plate or mesh-shaped or linear metal is used as diffracted wave shielding materials 6.
