Abstract
PURPOSE: A chelating agent is added to aqueous solution of iron complex salt to stabilize it, thus obtaining an iron complex salt aqueous solution with long shelf life that is used in color tests for measuring enzyme activity using an aromatic primary amine derivative as substrate.
CONSTITUTION: To an aqueous solution of iron complex such as sodium pentancyanoamminferroate, or sodium nitroprusside are added sodium bicarbonate and a chelating agent as a pH modifier to form a stabilized iron complex salt aqueous solution. As the chelating agent, sodium citrate, sodium tartarate, sodium pyophosphate, sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate are used alone or in combination. The amount of the gaent is not especially restricted; however, preferably 2W25% on the basis of the iron complex. The combination of peroxide treatment using hydrogen peroxide or others is led to further better results.
