Abstract

PURPOSE: To make its possible to obtain a clear copy for an overhead projector or a second original, even in case a highly insulating substrate is used, by irradiating a photosensitive layer with light when a toner image is to be transferred.
CONSTITUTION: A negative electrostatic latent image, which is formed on a photosensitive layer 3 of a photosensitive material 1 for zerography, is developed with positively charged toners to form a toner image 4. A film 5 of polyethylene terephthalate laid on a conductive substrate 6 and having an intrinsic surface resistance higher than 1013 ohms is charged negatively and overlaid on the layer 3. When the conductive substrate 1 of the material 1 and the substrate 6 are electrically connected, the toners are transferred electrostatically to the surface of the film 5. If the layer 3 is irradiated with its sensitive wavelength light, it is turned conductive so that the surface potential difference between the image and other portions is reduced. As a result, when the film 5 is peeled, the toners of the image portion are not shifted to the non-image portion.
